Both GTA and Rockstar will be celebrating anniversaries in the coming months, so the license plate in a way could just be commemorating the 22nd anniversary of those things. The license plate on the car might just be honoring the significance of the year of 1998 for Rockstar and Grand Theft Auto, 1998 was the year Rockstar was actually established in, March 1998 is also when the first game in the Grand Theft Auto series released in North America. If the new game is set in 1998, that would put the game's story right around the events of the original Grand Theft Auto and Grand Theft Auto 2. Still, the time period may have changed and this image could be our first actual clue.

Sony, not betraying everyone’s expectations did not have any teaser, trailer or anything related to GTA 6, up until now the game has lived for 3 console generations and Rockstar is seemingly going to milk the game further. Included were GTA 5 and GTA Online, or more specifically, the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of this game which were to no one’s surprise flooded with hate.
